Abstract:
Caring for plants teaches children to look after and have respect for other living things. It gives them a sense of responsibility. Talk to the child in your life about why you water plants in the morning or after sundown so they stay healthy and are not scorched by the sun. Young children will develop an appreciation of the magic of nature and take pride in watching their plants grow. Gardening teaches a child to become patient and to have hope.
